This is old Gurgaon. The Civil Lines bungalows, Officers Colony and the HUDA plots across Sectors 4, 5 and 6 were laid out long before Golf Course Road existed, and the lanes behind Sadar Bazar do not run on a grid.

There is no metro station in this zone. Directions here work on landmarks and turnings, not on a dropped pin, and a caregiver who does not already know the area will lose twenty minutes finding a house that is four hundred metres from the main road.

Ours come from Sarhaul, Basai, Khandsa and Shivaji Nagar, which is the same side of town. They know the lanes on foot, which is the only way anyone actually learns them.

The housing here is older and so are the residents. This pocket has a high concentration of elderly households and very few organised care providers working in it, which is why a lot of families reach us having previously arranged help informally and had it fall through.

Five hospitals serve the area. Sheetla Hospital is in Sector 5 and Civil Hospital in Sector 10, both close. Kalyani and Umkal are in Sector 14. Max in Sector 19 takes the larger cases.

That is a genuinely dense set of options, and it changes what we recommend. For a dressing change or a post discharge check, there is no reason to travel to Sector 19. For anything surgical, there is.

Elderly attendant work is the largest category here, then post hospitalisation care, then physiotherapy, then diabetic care.

Diabetic care comes up more in this zone than in most of the ones we cover.

That means blood sugar checked and recorded at the times the doctor set, insulin given correctly and stored correctly, meals actually matched to the diet rather than nominally matched, and feet checked for sores that a patient with reduced sensation will not feel.

A foot ulcer found in week one is a dressing. Found in week six it is an admission. That single check is much of the value of a trained attendant in a diabetic household.

Post hospitalisation care here is usually shorter and more practical than in the newer parts of the city.

Injections and dressings on schedule, help moving safely around a house that was not built for a walking frame, and someone who notices a fever before it becomes a readmission.

Day to day, an attendant placement is medication given and recorded, bathing supervised, meals prepared, two short walks if the patient is steady, and a written log at the end of the day.

We walk the house on the first visit and say plainly which steps, thresholds and bathroom surfaces are the risk. Bungalows in this pocket have deep steps and old flooring, and that conversation prevents the fall we would otherwise be called about.

Language matters here more than the city average. Our caregivers in this zone speak Haryanvi and Punjabi as well as Hindi, with Bhojpuri on the roster. An elderly patient spoken to in their own language eats better, sleeps better and argues less about medication.

Every caregiver carries police verification and an identity card, and the family sees the record and approves the person before they travel.

In an area where most help has historically been arranged by word of mouth and nothing was ever written down, we are deliberately the opposite.

If the caregiver is not right for the household, we replace them. That is a change of person, not a renegotiation.

On price we are direct, because this pocket has been quoted at inflated rates by people trading on distress. The rate follows condition and hours. A qualified nurse costs more than a trained attendant, though most households in these three sectors need the attendant.

Twenty four hour live in costs more than twelve, and in this pocket a twelve hour day shift is what most families actually need.

Night only cover is quoted on its own. Physiotherapy is per visit.

A trial day is available first, and in this area we usually suggest it, because most families here are hiring organised care for the first time and should see it before committing to a month.

Sectors 4, 5 and 6 hold more than the addresses named above. If your house is on a lane we have not listed, ask. The answer is usually yes.

If you have used informal help before and it did not work out, say so when you first message us. It usually tells us more about what you actually need than a description of the medical condition does.

To start, send the sector and house number with the nearest turning, what the doctor has asked for, and the hours you need. We reply with who is free and what it costs, or we say we cannot cover it.
