Columbia Asia and Manipal are both in the locality, which means a discharge here can be handed over in person rather than read off a photograph an hour later. That is the practical advantage of this address and it is worth using. When a family tells us the discharge time in advance, the caregiver can be at the flat before the patient is, with the medication schedule already written out. The colony is lettered A to H, with Ashiana Apartments, Rosewood City, Sun City Apartments and Suncity Heights inside the same road network. Block letters and house numbers repeat across the blocks, so we confirm both, plus the nearest market, before anyone is dispatched. There is no metro station serving Palam Vihar. Bajghera Road, the main market and Ansal Plaza are the reference points, and they are what a driver will actually recognise. Our caregivers come from Carterpuri, Palam Vihar Extension and Dundahera. Carterpuri is the village the colony grew around, so the team is already inside the road network rather than coming in off the expressway with the rest of the morning traffic.
